Los Angeles: Disney has renewed Coven Academy for a second season following strong viewership during the show's opening weeks.
The renewal announcement comes just over three weeks after the first season premiered, according to Deadline.
Disney said the series generated 20.3 million global viewing hours across Disney+ and Hulu during its first three weeks. The first chapter also attracted more than 30 million views on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
The first season follows three teenage witches and their warlock peers at an elite magical boarding school, where power is currency, secrets are dangerous and attraction can be a liability.
Caught between ancient supernatural wars and forbidden romances, the young coven must decide how far they are willing to go to protect their city and themselves.
The series stars Malina Pauli Weissman as Briar, Malachi Barton as Jake, Jordan Leftwich as Sasha, Ora Duplass as Tegan, Louis Thresher as Ollie, and Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves. Devon Sawa guest-stars as Mr. Cole.
